K.Yvonne & Andrea.T Singapore & Italy We have a plan to create memories.
These memories are for our future
This is our life together,
which is so near & yet so far.
But nothing will keep us apart,
for we will brave all together...
just to see the rainbow at the other end
When Andrea was here in March 2008, I took him to different places to try out some of what Singapore has to offer. There are some of the places we went:
Chinatown: We went to the hawker street and ordered Fried Hokkien Mee, Fried Carrot Cake & Spring Roll. He was ok with Spring Roll but not that keen on Carrot Cake...obviously Hokkien Mee stood out.
Red Star: Pushcart Dim Sum place at Chinatown. He loves all the Dim Sum but was particularly fond of the "San Mee" which is fried cripsy noodles top with seafood gravy. He told me that the texture reminds him of pasta when cooked "Al Dente".
Food Court: We had dumpling noodles at the food court in Great World City as we were staying across at Waterfront Corpthorne Hotel. He told me about a type of chinese ravioli and that came to my mind. What a carnivore.
East Coast: Long Beach Seafood Restaurant. He was rambling about having eaten at a place full of seafood near the sea but since he can't recall I took him to Long Beach. We had a bottle of wine there, it was fine. We ordered Venison with Leeks, Sweet Corn Soup with Crabmeat, Cereal Prawns & Black Pepper Crab. He gave a thumbs up to all except that the crab was too spicy for him wahaha USELESS!
For the other food that we ate it's just Italian at Prego's, Pizzeria Giardino at CHIJMES, Tapas Tree at Clarke Quay, Brazil Churrascaria at 6th Avenue etc
When he's here in Singapore again this September, I will introduce him to more local food like Rojak, Char Kuey Teow, Hor Fan, Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice etc....can't wait to hear his review, coming from a land of "food critics".
